New year, new me; that’s how the saying goes, right? Changing myself isn’t my goal for 2016, though. My resolutions all align around freeing myself to take the time to focus on the things in life that I enjoy. For me they are a bit too personal to share here, but each of them comes with a resolution statement and a measurable goal that will allow me to track how I’m doing.
While my goals aren’t all about blogging, I am rather excited that blogging will help me in achieving some of my resolutions. I’ve been burnt out the last couple of months. Not from blogging, but from my real job, and it’s been affecting my work/life balance terribly. I’m taking the few days I have off over the new year to catch my breath and reset my priorities. I’m working to put the tools in place to set myself up for success.
So many of us make resolutions that don’t last past a week. This time I’m not setting myself up for failure. My goals are long term, they allow me to do the things I love, and will force me to reassess the things that are keeping me unhappy. I can’t wait to see what’s different in 365 days.
Do you have resolutions set? Are they measurable and do you think you’ll be able to stick to them?
