Just last month I paid off the last of my student loans, officially making me debt free! I thought I’d share a little about my road to getting here, and the tips and struggles I learned along the way.
These photos were taken in the AirBNB apartment we stayed at a while ago in Hollywood. We went to see an Eddie Izzard show and ended up playing tourist for the day. We actually ended up at the Wax Museum along with the other tourist trap museums. It was surprisingly entertaining. Might as well go all out and do it once, right? What’s the most tourist trap-y thing you’ve ever visited?
Sometimes I think of how I want things to go, and then something outside of my control changes the plan. For me, that was the wind in these photos. I was so excited to have an awesome hair day. I wanted to document it, but the wind had other ideas. I guess I’ll admit that the best thing to do is roll with the punches, since something great may result. Though I’ll also admit is usually isn’t easy for me.
Sometimes things do go according to plan (mostly). My current manicure is a great example of that. I was shopping at Target over the long weekend (I had Friday off!), and I saw the Sinful Colors nail polishes for $1.99. I was hoping they’d be half-way decent, since they had all the perfect colors, and they were. Only the yellow gave me trouble, all the others needed only 2 coats.
Rainbow wasn’t the perfect fit for Independence Day, but it brightened up the weekend anyway. We went to see the fireworks on the 4th, which helped too! There is just something so special about fireworks. The show put on by the city was great, but it also made me remember New Years Eve in Germany just half a year ago, and the excitement of having fireworks go off all around you. Of course, I like to stay safe in a stadium, or on a balcony away from the direct action. Still, the lights going off in the dark sky will always be amazing to me.
Hope everyone had a celebratory weekend. What is your favorite way to experience fireworks?
