A New Wardrobe Staple
You ever buy something because when you try it on it feels like it already has a place in your wardrobe? I totally felt that way about this blouse and these shoes! I will admit that I probably don’t need any more striped things added to my closet, but this blouse was too great to resist. Most striped things I own are knit, and they just don’t feel quite nice enough to wear to work. The only thing that almost swayed me from buying this top are the sleeve tabs. I really don’t like those things, but I think I may have finally figured out how to make them work for me! Time to reassess all the other sleeve tabs in my closet.
I also finally replaced my old black ballet flats (seen here and here) that I wore for years. I threw those out in a fit of decluttering, and have been sad about it ever since. Sad from a wardrobe standpoint, my feet were quite content since they were so worn out. I honestly held on to them for way to long because I couldn’t find a new pair, but while in Portland (no sales tax people!) I found these perfect replacements. I love the things I find at Nordstrom Rack on clearance. These and a pair of wide-calf boots came home with me at an additional 25% off. Score!
I really feel like the blouse and the flats both fit in my wardrobe as staple replacements. Both a little elevated from what I relied on before.
Do you ever hang on to things for way too long because you can’t find the right replacement?
